Space Expo is het officiële bezoekerscentrum van ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk en laat bezoekers op een toegankelijke en interactieve manier kennismaken met Europese ruimtevaart. Met authentieke objecten, tentoonstellingen en educatieve programma’s brengt het museum de wereld van astronauten, raketten en ruimtemissies dichterbij.

 

Tijdens meerdere opdrachten fotografeerde ik Space Expo vanuit verschillende invalshoeken. Voor de website en communicatie werden het interieur, de tentoonstellingen, de buitenzijde van het gebouw en de Space Train vastgelegd. Samen geven deze beelden een breed beeld van het museum en de bijzondere omgeving waarin wetenschap, techniek en beleving samenkomen.

Voor een afzonderlijke kalendershoot maakten we een meer conceptuele serie in de tentoonstellingsruimtes. Met een model en de aanwezige ruimtevaartdecors creëerden we beelden waarin zij op de maan en aan boord van het internationale ruimtestation werd geplaatst. De bestaande installaties vormden daarbij het decor voor een speelse serie waarin portretfotografie, campagnebeeld en visuele storytelling samenkwamen.

Daarnaast documenteerde ik een kinderfeest voor jonge ruimtevaartliefhebbers. Tijdens het programma bouwden de kinderen hun eigen waterraket, waarna deze buiten werd gelanceerd om te ontdekken hoe hoog hun creatie kon komen.
